What does Design and Technology look like at Kingfisher?
At Kingfisher CE Academy, we teach Design and Technology following the cyclical structure of investigating, planning, making and evaluating. All children will be taught DT through hands on and practical lessons with well resources lessons that enable them to create the designs that they make. All children will have the opportunity to create products in each of the strands of DT: textiles, mechanisms, cooking, structures and electrical systems. They will all be presented with a brief that is realistic and ambitious which will require the children to use the knowledge and skills that they will be taught in that topic. After planning and making the products, the children will reflect on their own and other’s products and learn to give constructive feedback.
